Bimini Snorkeling Sites

Spotted Moray at The Strip

The Strip

Depth Range: 40ft.
Dive Type: Reef/ All skill levels
Location: North Bimini

The Strip is an incredible dive. Ever since the site was discovered and Bimini Undersea began taking divers there back in 1986, we can't recall anyone who has not thoroughly enjoyed the dive. The site serves as one of our primary night dive locations, and, it is one of our most requested dive sites by returning divers.

The Strip is a 75 yard long, 5 yard wide, 5 – 12 ft high strip of coral sitting in the middle of an expansive sandy plateau at a depth of 40 feet. The formation runs north and south parallel to the shoreline. This layout makes it virtually impossible for a diver to experience navigational challenges on this dive. This is also why we select it so many times as a night dive site.

The Strip is jam packed with a wide assortment of marine. Seeing as this is the only coral formation in the area it's easy to see why. Any sea creatures in the area that rely on the reef for protection and survival really have no option but to live here! On a typical dive on The Strip divers often see Spotted Morays, Rock Fish, Reef Crabs (huge) and lobster. It's also not uncommon to see Nurse Sharks, Green Morays, Sting Rays (out in the sand) and the occasional Stone Crab.

Whether you dive it during the day, or at night, the Strip is one of those "must–do" dive for any diver visiting Bimini.
