Poolside Instruction The program begins with you and your instructor going over the equipment you will be using on your dive. The instructor goes over each and every piece of equipment. Explains what it does, and, the proper way for you to use it. In – Pool Lesson: The next step has you and you instructor in the pool. Learning the core skills required for SCUBA Diving and practicing those skills until both you and your instructor know for sure that you are ready for the next step. Your open water reef dive. Some of the skills you will learn include "clearing" your dive mask, removing and recovering your regulator, using your buoyancy device, how to "share air" with your instructor, basic underwater communications, "equalizing" techniques, and much more. Combined Poolside & In-Pool instruction takes about 90 minutes. Reef Dive with your Instructor: Done with the pool – now on to the dive! Following the Poolside and In-Pool learning sessions, you and your instructor are headed out for an exciting reef dive aboard the dive vessel Adventurer. Intro dives are conducted on any one of many shallow reef dives in the Bimini area. Rainbow Reef, Atlantis, Turtle Rocks, and The Sapona are a few of the favorites. After learning about safe boat entries, exits, descents and ascents, you're ready to go! Your instructor takes you on a guided tour as you both explore one of Bimini's top dive sites. If you enjoy that first dive and want to continue on, you've got a few options. You can continue on doing additional guided dives with your instructor. Progressively exploring reefs up to a max depth of 60 feet. Or if you're really excited about your diving experience, you can opt to take the next step towards full SCUBA certification.
